The cell cycle distributions of adherent Madin-Darby canine kidney cells grown for vaccine production were investigated. During cell growth phase cell cycle distributions for all cultivations were similar whereas during infection and mock-infection significant differences in S-phase contents were observed. Equine influenza vaccine production was investigated as a model process [1]. Here, we describe differences in cell physiology during infection compared to a mock-infection (without virus seed).
