This paper proposes a method for developing a conformed cooling system for injection molding that facilitates rapid temperature change at the mold surface with the minimum cycle time. A plastic part with the complex shape is decomposed into simpler surfaces. The cooling channels for individual surfaces are first obtained and then combined to form the conformal cooling channel system for the entire part.
