Broiler farmers make several attempts by searching for an ideal balance between financial aspects, animal well-being, and clean production when building houses. The study aimed to assess the most appropriate rearing system for broiler housing in tropical regions using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The research was carried out using data sampling from a field study carried out in eight mechanically-ventilated broiler houses with different characteristics. The result found in the present study advises the use of the conventional open-sided housing system in broiler production, using positive pressure systems (axial fans + fogging systems) by broiler farmers. The favorable climate in some regions enables the use of open-sided houses for broiler production and brings the farmers to an advantageous economic spot when comparing to other broiler producing countries.
