A simple laboratory experiment, measuring the behavior of the relative humidity downstream of a nozzle spraying water, found that the effective relative humidity within the spray cloud is 50% higher than ambient conditions. The implications of this unexpected result are explored using the database developed by the Spray Drift Task Force, finding that AGDISP model predictions are now no more than a factor of two higher than deposition data, out to 500 m downwind.
