"Graphic and Cartographic Expression" is a group of Educative Innovation, belonging to Universidad Politecnica of Madrid (Spain), that has been investigating the development of self-learning and self-evaluation tools for a better adaptation to the methodological changes aimed at converging on the Common European Framework for Higher Education. As a result, two tools have been created: "Edugrafica Diedrico" (Edugraphica Orthogonal Projections) and "Edugrafica Acotado" (Edugaphica Contour Mapping) "Edugrafica" is a self-learning and self-evaluation tool of graphic expression for undergraduate students of engineering. The access to the self-learning system is through files containing theory and problems that are visualized by means of a CAD program (Ramcad) generated by our group. The tool is available in an on-line e-learning system. The self-evaluation tool has been developed with questionnaires of the Moodle tool, which is used by the Universidad Politecnica of Madrid. The results obtained after the application of both projects have shown that the final knowledge acquired by the students is quite homogeneous. In addition to this, it is clear that the students also improve those aspects that are more troublesome, learn most of the concepts more easily, and detect the problems in the concepts that have been more difficult to understand. Since one of the further strategies of UPM is to offer courses in English language, our group has developed an English version, named "Edugraphica International". It basically consists in adapting the tool "Edugrafica Acotado" to English for students other than Spanish speakers to use it. Several American and European universities have been offered the tool, and the conclusions and results obtained for such an experience will be considered for the improvement of the tool as well as its wider use and diffusion.
