In this paper, the techniques to reduce thrustripple are presented in the moving magnet type PMLSM. Through optimizing of PM shape and installing notch, thrust is decreased about 0.8 percent. But, the distortion ratio of thrust is decreased from 1.04 percent to 0.43 percent. Also, the thrust ripple ratio at load angle of 90 deg is decreased from 3.8 percent to 0.72 percent.
