In this paper, the techniques to reduce thrust ripple are presented in the moving magnet type PMLSM. Through optimizing of PM shape and installing notch, thrust is decreased about 0.8 %. But, the distortion ratio of thrust is decreased from 1.04 % to 0.43 %. Also, the thrust ripple ratio at load angle of 90° is decreased from 3.8 % to 0.72 %.
