C-Nucleosides, characterized by replacement of labile glycosidic C-N bond by a stable hardly degradable C-C bond, attract great attention due to their use in the extension of the genetic alphabet. 1 We are currently involved in the development of modular methodologies based on the synthesis2 of various key intermediate C-nucleosides and their further use for a generation of series of diverse derivatives.
