摘要

The research for new, alternative strategies to antibiotic treatment of infectious diseases is emerging, due to the spread of antimicrobial resistance, which is recognized as a global health problem by the World Health Organization. Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) could represent a very attractive alternative to antibiotics to fight against pathogens, especially in the case of localized infections [1].
