2H-Azirine is a highly strained unsaturated compound containing nitrogen. These heterocycles are among the most useful synthetic intermediates towards the synthesis of substituted aziridines, amino acids, indoles, pyrazines and other biologically active compounds. Due to their particular polarity and the strain of their threemembered ring, they undergo facile ring-opening reactions with a wide variety of nucleophiles and electrophiles, providing a powerful strategy for organic synthesis. The introduction of different functional groups to the azirine cycle makes it possible to expand the range of reactions of 2H-azirines, study their biologically properties
