摘要

Naturally occurring and synthetic terpenoid lactones are known for a broad variety of biological activity . Our interest in the synthesis of this group of compounds is connected with their feeding deterent activity against insects and odoriferous properties. Up to now we have synthesized over one hundred of terpenoid lactones which exhibited antifeedant activity comparable with activity of the most known and active antifeedant - azadirachtin. Here we present four-step synthesis of four (two enantiomeric pairs) hydroxy lactones from racemic piperitone.
