Preparation of Dewar Benzenes Derivatives and Its Use in Organic Synthesis(Abstracts)

摘要

Dewar benzenes are valence isomers of benzenes as benzvalene and prismane. The first Dewar benzene was synthesised by van Tamellen in 1962 by photochemical rearrangement of 1,2,4-tri(t-butyl)benzene . During one of our previous projects we observed the formation of Dewar benzenes as side products . This has provided impetus for further research aiming at the synthesis of variously substituted Dewar benzenes and study of their physical properties and potential synthetic use.
