We propose a process-oriented spatio-temporal model. The process-oriented spatio-temporal data model and process index methods proposed in this paper, provide the effective theory basis on management of spatio-temporal process. This paper also presents the framework and interface of an integrated spatio-temporal analysis and process simulation environment for public health research. The kind of toolkit constructed, which integrates spatio-temporal analysis, simulation and presentation, will contribute to the development of more convenient and efficient research environment for epidemic relevant specialists and researchers. With farther development of spatial temporal visualization, analysis, and models, we believe this kind of integrated environment will become more popular and will exhibit its potentials in improving geographic, environmental and health research. On the other hand, it is a direction of future research how to design a spatial temporal modeling environment to offer users the possibility to developed customized new models.
