摘要

The particle size distribution of lipoproteins (HDL and LDL) are recognized as important indicators of complex metabolic functions and provide epidemiological links to cardiovascular disease (CVD). This work uses asymmetric flow field-flow fractionation (AF4), a gentle separation technique that is based on the differential diffusion of nanoparticles into parallel velocity layers of laminar flow in the presece of an applied orthogonal field. The size fractions are directly analyzed by on-line trypsin digestion and isotope dilution MS/MS (IDMS) to quantify HDL and LDL binding apolipoproteins and metabolic enzymes.
