Native PCDD/Fs levels in crab meat were very low (Table 1) and excellent ~(13)C labeled recoveries of the isotope dilution standards were observed. Excellent agreement was found between the PCBs concentrations found in our laboratory and the reference values listed for fortified fish tissue (Table 2). Seafood is easily and reliably processed with our combined automated extraction and clean up. With extraction times of ~60 min and sample clean up taking only a few hours, same-day analysis of seafood samples is now possible.
