EXPANDING HORIZONS IN REAL TIME ANALYSIS: DUAL POLARITY SIFT-INTRODUCTION MS

SIFT-MS enables real-time analytical measurements of volatiles. Operating only with a microwave discharge of moist air, the reagent ions in SIFT-MS have been extended to include four negatively charged ions. The carrier gas in SIFT-MS has been changed from helium to nitrogen. The additional negative reagent ions enable new volatiles to be monitored that are not accessible to positive reagent ions.
