We have shown that with the use of different stationary phases we can resolve hard to resolve analytes using more common C18 phase. Further, two phases, Ultra C18 and biphenyl behaves very similar to each other when the acetonitrile is used as the organic modifier. We are currently evaluating the data obtained for the separation under the buffered mobile phases and here specially we are looking at the change in the elution order, mass spectrometric signal intensity and peak symmetry.
