Simulation Study of A Periodic Field Multi-stage Differential Mobility Analyzer for Enhanced Resolution

The general nonuniformity of the flow field has very little effect on the ion transmission and the resolution but may lead to a notable discrepancy in the shapes of the filtered ion trajectories. When the ion entrance/exit slits are off center from the ion path, there is a minor left shift of the peak position, depending upon the time that it takes the ions to pass the top/bottom stages.
