Fast Detection of Reactive Metabolites Trapped as GSH Conjugates Using Polarity Switching and UHPLC on an Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer

An equal ratio mixture of unlabeled and labeled GSH combined with UHPLC-MS/MS facilitated the detection of GSH conjugates without false positives. Polarity switching with neutral loss and precursor ion MS/MS scanning allowed the detection of more GSH conjugates of electrophilic metabolites in a single analysis than would be possible using either positive or negative mode alone.
