Pulse-chase method followed by LAESI-IMS-MS can add insight into metabolic network dynamics and molecular turnover rates in live biological systems. For the detection of 15N to 14N kinetics, IMS was a valuable tool by reducing iosbaric interferences and aiding in the detection of low abunadance species.
