Comparison of solvent-free and solvent-based sample preparations for the analysis of polyethylene glycols using dihydroxybenzoic acid isomers in MALDI-MS

MALDI has gaining its popularity for the analysis of polymers. Solvent-free sample preparation for polymer analysis is getting popular in MALDI mass spectrometry (MALDI-MS) since it is applicable for polymers which are insoluble in common organic solvent. In this presentation, the solvent-free sample preparation using DHB isomers as matrix for the analysis of various polyethylene glycol (PEG) samples (PEG 400-8000) is compared with the solvent-based two-layer sample preparation method.
