Relative Quantification of Phospholipid Changes in Single Cell Membranes Following Lipid Incubation Using Imaging MS

1. ToF-SIMS imaging is a viable technique to measure changes in the membrane composition of single cells following lipid incubation. 2. We have both measured the augmentation of existing lipids and the incorporation of non-native lipids. 3. In the future this work will be employed to correlate changes lipid composition to changes in cell physiology as measure to better understand the percent of variation in composition required to invoke the previously observed effects on exocytosis.
