Membrane Proteomic Analysis of Protozoan Parasite Trypanosoma cruzi

We used three different strategies to enrich and identify the membrane proteins of T. cruzi, the sucrose + detergent method is believed to be superior to the other two methods considering both the number of membrane proteins identified and the spectra counts obtained. However, for the identification of the trans-sialidases via the "UNIQUE" peptide approach, the sucrose method is preferred.
