This presentation is the continuation of our studies into the reaction of SWNTs with gaseous HN_3. The commercially available SWNTs inherently contain some amount of a metal such as Ni or Fe that is used in the production processes. We have shown that when exposed to gaseous HN_3 the metal contents of the SWNTs convert to the corresponding metal azides. The thermal stability and aging of the products of the gaseous HN_3 with SWNT (containing Ni) are studied here.
