Pyrolysis process of sugarcane bagasse and sugarcane straw were studied with the objective of determining the kinetic parameters such as activation energy (E), logarithm of pre-exponential factor (log A) according to converted fraction (α). The determination of kinetics parameters was done with the software Thermokinetics by NETZSCH, which associated to the "Model Free" package enabled the determination of these parameters by Friedman and Ozawa-Flynn-Wall isoconversion models. The thermal degradation of sugarcane bagasse and sugarcane straw was performed between 30 to 800 °C under nitrogen flow and a heating rate of 5, 10, 15 and 20 K/min. The obtained results showed that the values for activation energy (E) and logarithm of pre-exponential factor (log A) for Friedman and Ozawa-Flynn-Wall models presented similarities in itself as to sugarcane bagasse as for sugarcane straw, showing that both models are suitable to describe the pyrolysis process of each material.
