A Tool for Tunneling-Induced Building Damage Risk Assessment

Simple software for the evaluation of building damage potential due to new tunnel construction is developed in this study. The developed software consists of two main modules: ground settlement analysis module and building damage assessment module. The tunneling-induced ground movement is evaluated by using the analytical solutions and the empirical methods. The building damage potential is evaluated by simple criteria using the predicted ground movement. The advantages of the software are its user-friendliness, requirement of easily available input data, and faster evaluation time.
