This paper evaluates the results obtained from an experimental photovoltaic installation on the roof of the building of Electrical and Computer Engineer's department at the University of Patras Greece, latitude 380. The influence of solar irradiance, module temperature, and tilt angle, on the amorphous silicon solar module, describes the real operation of this type of photovoltaic modules in a region which represents a typical site across Greek midlands with very high temperatures during summer. The module's power and efficiency does not vary significantly with temperature in the case of constant irradiance. Annual electricity output calculations according to a method earlier developed showed that the module's output (under 1007 W/m~2 and 34°C) has been found about 8.7% lower than the one specified by the manufacturer under STC. Annual yield calculations led to the conclusion that the annual electricity yield of south -faced, 38° - inclined ASI-F 32/12 a-Si modules is 1.6 times higher compared to this of south -faced, 90° - inclined modules (installation onto the facade of a building) at the same site. The modules' performance influenced by these environmental conditions is discussed.
