A bifacial n~+-p-p~+ solar cell is studied under constant monochromatic illumination. The continuity equation related to the minority carriers density in the base of the cell is resolved with boundary conditions defined by minority carrier recombination velocities at the back surface Sb and at the junction Sf for either front or back side illumination. The extension of the collection layer beyond the space charge region is then analysed and leads to a diffusion capacitance C. This diffusion capacitance is studied as a function of illumination wavelength for various Sf and leads to the space charge diffusion capacitance.
