Evaluating Licensed Process Technology Leading to Improved Refinery Margin

Refinery profitability can be improved by the proper selection of licensed process technology. The research sometimes includes a Market Study followed by linear programming to select the most optimum process unit configuration. Generally, the client does a feasibility study that is used to select the best process units for the new refinery or for a refinery revamp. The selected process may require that a royalty needs to be paid to be able to use a particular technology or there is a need to pay for unique or special technical knowhow.
