It is impossible to go through a thorough discussion of all aspects of the quality control and assurance of structural engineering design and present a perfect solution in such a short paper. This paper is to serve as a “brick” as said in a Chinese Idiom that “Cast a brick to attract jade” – To offer a few commonplace remarks by way of introduction so that other colleagues may come up with more valuable opinions.
