Energy-Saving Techniques of Elevator Group Control System

An elevator group control system can help reduce power consumption, if the system takes each elevator's energy consumption into consideration, when the system decides an assigned car to a new hall call. This paper shows the two latest "Green" functions of our group control system. First one is to introduce the new energy-saving criterion into the conventional total evaluation. The new energy-saving criterion is immediately calculated from the estimation of electric energy, when a new hall call is appeared. Second improvement is a control algorithm for scattering empty cars on each floor uniformly. The effectiveness of those techniques is evaluated from a simulation, which is based on a daily traffic in an actual building.
