Liberalization of telecommunication services market - Sharing Multimedia Services in Interconnected IMS Domains

For upcoming decade, IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is preferred communication technology focused on delivering multimedia services. With its service-oriented and layered architecture it enables provision of variety of services and adoption 3rd party providers' services. Communication network operators are loosing market share of service providers at the expense of Apple's iPhone and Google's Android. If they want to reverse the trend of becoming only Internet connection providers, they need to focus on customers' satisfaction and offer interesting services. Such requirement can be fulfilled by changing "Walled garden" thinking and opening to 3rd party providers. For this purpose we propose Service Sharing System (SSS) for IMS networks. SSS offers listing and categorization of services, which does not exist in any former nor current communication network. Compiled of services offered by home operator and other service providers, the list of services is presented to customers, which can browse it, choose a service (e.g. TV stream) and use it regardless of who provides it. The solution is win-win for all involved parties while it brings higher quality and variety of services to customers while producing higher income for operator and also for service provider.
