The inclusion of impurity in cycoltrimethylentrinitramine (RDX) crystals has been studied in cooling crystallization. Solvents such as acetone, cyclohexanone, dimethylsulfoxide, N-methylpyrrolidone, gamma-butyrolactone, and their water mixtures were investigated. The quantitative amounts of inclusions inside the crystals formed in various solvents were related to the supersaturation. The dependence of the supersaturation on inclusions were affected by solvents. Furthermore, the surface roughness was considered through the thermodynamic effect.
