The goal of this work was to after Plant experiment at Steel Plant on a continuous Radial casting mashines and laboratory experiment at laboratory for refractory materials confirms significant decrease erosion of SEN (Submerge entry nozzle - for continuous steel casting), because of the influence casting powder with wollastonite. Two casting powders were adjusted in such a way that they only differ in the wollastonite content .SRD1 -Casting powder without wollastonite, SRD2 -Casting powder with wollastonite. Plant experiment results shoved that SEN erosion due to casting powder was much Ipwer (46%) with SRD2 than with SRD1. Three casting powders 1, 2 and 3 were used for laboratory experiment These three casting powdewrs are mixtures between casting powder SRD1 and SRD2 in heterogeneous ratio. Casting powder 1 -SRD1:SRD2 =50 : 50 Casting powder 2 -SRD1 :SRD2 =25 : 75 Casting powder 3 -SRD1:SRD2 =75 : 25 Experiment parameters : Const. Temperature 1540°C, Time of tretment on 45min, 90min and 135min. For laboratory experiment used cryptal furnace. Results measurment erosion of SEN , showed important decrease erosion of SEN treatment casting powder 2, with ratio SRD1 : SRD2 = 25 : 75. Results of the optical microscopy (micro view) confirmed important influence casting powder with wollastonite.
