摘要

In this paper, some lower bounds for the smallest singular value of a general complex matrix are given in terms of the maximal off-diagonal element of the matrix. Each of the new bounds is generally stronger than previous published bounds in some cases. Examples are given to show that these bounds perform well for a large class of matrices.
