On Determining Spectrally Arbitrary Sign Patterns

An n×n sign pattern A is a spectrally arbitrary pattern (SAP) if, for any given real monic polynomial f(x) of degree n, there is a real matrix B∈Q(A) having characteristic polynomial f(x). We consider a class of sign patterns and show they are not spectrally arbitrary patterns.
