Knowledge management has become one of the most important activities in organizations at present. Moreover, to access Knowledge Base by cell phones is a research hotspot in knowledge management domain to solve inconvenience to manipulate the knowledge base by traditional desktop computers. Especially, an automatic question answering function plays an important role in KMSs (Knowledge Management System). In this paper, a question answering system in a cell phone is discussed. A text document topic classification model and an improved sentence semantic similarity calculating model are proposed, which have found their applications in the experimental question answering system. The system architecture, ontology building, text topic classification and sentence semantic similarity calculating algorithm are issued respectively. All FAQs (Frequently Ask Questions) are classified and organized in FAQs database in advance for query later. After one user sends one question to the question answering system from his cell phone, the system can search all FAQs database and match the most similar answer from the candidate question set and send the answer to the users.
