This paper introduces our recent work on both unidirectional and bidirectional solidification of metal/gas eutectics, especially introduces the pressure criterion for the formation of metal/gas eutectic regular porous structure in a gas mixture atmosphere, the influence of the growth direction (axial and radial growth) and the solidification mode (eutectic, hypereutectic and hypoeutectic mode) on the metal/gas eutectic structure.
