The photosynthesis traits of 10 leguminous forages were studied. The indices including photosynthesis rate (pn), stomatal conductance (cond), transpiration rate and internal cellular CO_2 concentration (ci) were measured by a LI-6400 portable photosynthesis system in the open air. The results showed a mid-day depression of photosynthesis occured in all the samples tested. Following a decrease of light intensity, the pn and the cond decreased and the ci increased.
