SUGARCANE DAMAGE BY DORYSTHENES GRANNLOSUS (THOMSON) IN GUANGXI AND ITS CONTROL STRATEGIES

Aims: Dorysthenes granulosus (Thomson) is one of the most important insect pests of sugarcane in Guangxi. It damaged sugarcane heavily in recently years. This paper reported its damage situation and analyzed the reasons that caused its incidence seriously, reviewed the studies on characteristic, biology and control of D. granulosus. Methods & Results: Many useful biological control measures such as Mctarrhizium anisopliaeare and Entomopathogenic nematodes were introduced. M. anisopliaeare was deserved to study. To tempt adults by lamp was an important measure in controlling this pest. The developmental tendencies of studies were also introduced.
