Aim: To review the production of chemicals from sugarcane. Significance of Study: A general introduction with a hrief history of sugar cane is given, as well as a quantitative consideration of its by-products and coproducts available as source of rawmaterials, followed by a close consideration of the ample possibilities of bagasse as a raw material for coproducts using it as a source of fiber and also for the production of a wide range of chemicals of second and third generation.
