Recently software reliability growth models incorporating coverage growth behaviorhave been developed and applied in practice, because it is beneficial in order that coverage growth behavior describes a fault detection phenomenon. Performance of such software reliability growth models depends on the kind of selected coverage growth function. This paper first reviews the coverage growth functions considered for software reliability modeling. Then their theoretical characteristics and empirical performance are investigated.
