PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a software reliability growth model selection method, software reliability growth model selection apparatus, software reliability growth model selection program, efficient selection of the software reliability growth model most appropriate for actually measured data among a plurality of software reliability growth models at a time point shortly after the start of testing, and program recording medium thereof. PSOLUTION: A computer has a memory for storing a collection result of actually measured data. Using the actually measured data read out from the memory, the computer obtains a correlation coefficient which indicates correlation between an explanatory variable and an object variable in a regression formula for estimating parameters in each software reliability growth model. The above correlation coefficient is obtained for each software reliability growth model to be selected. The software reliability growth model having the maximum absolute value of the above obtained correlation coefficients is selected as the most appropriate model for the actually measured data.
