Double heterojunction organic solar cells (OSCs) using poly (3, 4-ethylenedioxythiophene): poly (4-styrenesulfonic acid) (PEDOT: PSS) as an anode modification layer and fullerene (C_60) as an acceptor layer were fabricated and characterized. The results showed that short-circuit current density (J_SC), open-circuit voltage (V_OC), fill factor (FF) and power conversion efficiency (PCE) increase apparently by using the anode modification layer although it may block the light absorption. A maximum power conversion efficiency of 1.02 % has been achieved by employing 90 nm thick poly (2-methoxy, 5-(2'-ethylhexyloxy)-1, 4-phenylene vinylene) (MEH-PPV) as an electron donating layer.
