摘要

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) technology is a new one in the world at present. Surface NMR (SNMR) methoa is the only new geophysical method directly detecting underground water. Rubbish burying site and filling petrol station are the main contamination sources of underground water in China. In this paper the theoretical basis for application of SNMR method in detecting underground water contamination by hydrocarbon is discussed emphatically, according to features of directly detecting underground water anomaly character is distinguished from other geophysical methods,and contamination degree of underground water can be determined on basis of SNMR response parameters given. Application results of detecting contamination by hydrocarbon using SNMR method are shown with concrete examples, and areas where the SNMR method can be used in the future are pointed out. And finally a suggestion about further theoretical study on detecting underground water contamination by hydrocarbon and developing new nationalized NMR instrument is proposed.
