摘要

The high current machine CEP AGE (Conduite d'Elements Projetes Adapatable par Generateur Electrique) has been developed recently at CEA Gramat. The magnetic field produced by the 3.5 MA current flow is used to accelerate metal flyers to high velocity and controlled planarity. The objective is to perform shock wave experiments on High Explosives (HE) samples in order to address ignition, shock to detonation transition and detonation properties. The purpose of this paper is to present the development and validation of the pyrotechnic protection and the first experiment on High Explosives. The HE protection has to take into account the severe environment, especially the dynamic high voltage and current flow and the blast and fragments issues. The pyrotechnic protections are qualified on an internal blast experiment. The first experiment on a PBXN109 sample is compared with a powder gun experiment setup. The performances of CEP AGE are also presented. 1 D MHD (Magneto - Hydro -Dynamic simulations) numerical simulations are performed and compared with the experimental results.
