摘要

We developed a Supply Chain Evaluation Tool (SCET) to investigate the relationship between safety stock and service levels for Chevron-Oronite Company (COC) in the presence of demand uncertainty, machine downtimes, and transportation lead time variation. SCET used optimization and simulation techniques to model the time-variant, highly dynamic and complex supply chain of COC. The supply chain included four plants in different part of the globe that met customer as well as other plants' requirements and a family of 10 products which were shipped using alternative transportation modes. The results will be available at the conference.
