The stages involved in mining production can be modeled and managed in a more efficient way when there is an integrated and continuous flow of information, from geology all the way down the mine value chain to the final specifications of the product. With the incorporation of technological components such as mining software, wireless components, field data digital capturing, etc., it is possible to take decisions based on models that are more accurate and realistic. Wireless technology, when used in conjunction with a mine planning software, eliminates error-liable manual procedures of more traditional methods of decision making in mining planning. Such an integrated solution will provide on-line access to information on rock types, qualities and elevations to mine planners and equipment operators. This will allow the operator to obtain quicker and more efficient results, improving significantly the productivity and the operation of the mine.
