Eclipse Energy Systems, Inc. (Eclipse) has a family of Nanostructured/Nanocomposite Transparent Electrically Conducting (EclipseTEC~(TM)) thin-film coatings that are more transparent and conductive than indium tin oxide (ITO), 40% lower in cost, and flexible. EclipseTEC~(TM) coatings are a set of long shelf life atmospheric condition storable nanotechnology coatings. These coatings have advantageous properties for energy conservation, automotive and architectural applications over other conventional transparent conductors. The sheet resistance is tailorable from 2 Ohms per square to 10 Ohms per square. The visible transmittance can be varied from 80% to 90%. The coating is fabricated using a room temperature vacuum deposition process and is compatible with polymer substrates such as polyethylene terepthalate). The coating has superior flexibility, with little to no degradation even when rolled into a scroll around a pen. The EclipseTEC has a host of applications including as a low-emissivity window coating when integrated into dual and triple pane insulated glass units (IGUs), automotive applications when fabricated on a laminate, and as a transparent electrode for photovoltatics, dynamic windows and display technologies including OLEDs, LCDs, LEDs, and ECDs.
