We investigate that a drying kinetics of slip cast body in a ZnO slurry between microwave heating and conventional heating. The results of the present study showed that the drying stage could be divided into two stages in microwave heating. Microwave heating can selectively heat the water in a slurry, and a small addition of NH_4~+ salt of poly acrylic acid (PAA) to the water can have important effects on microwave absorption. Microwave heating can greatly improve the drying kinetics due to selective heating, and the drying stage can be reduced to two steps. The transport of water during drying was enhanced in the linear kinetics stage through the reduction of water surface tension due to selective heating by microwaves.
